The Expression number, calculated from the full name, points to innate abilities and how a person tends to move through the world. The Soul Urge number reaches further in, toward motivation and private drives. Each one tells a slightly different part of the same story.
What I find most useful about numerology is not the individual numbers themselves but the conversations they open. A Life Path 7 and an Expression 3 in the same person creates an interesting tension - the 7 wants depth and solitude, the 3 wants expression and audience.
